What Are Celestial Journeys?
Celestial Journeys are interactive challenges that guide you through the discoveries hidden in the night sky. Each journey focuses on one clear goal, like finding a constellation, tracing the Sun’s path through the stars, or identifying a moving planet.
To make these discoveries accessible, we provide a digital planetarium designed specifically for observation and exploration. It allows students to move forward through time, mark positions in the sky, and watch how the patterns change from night to night.
These tools help overcome some of the challenges that come with observing the real sky — weather, time of day, or light pollution — while still allowing students to experience the process of discovery.
We hope the journeys serve as a starting point. Once students understand what to look for, many of these same observations can be made outside under the real sky.
